DAY 1 –Transfer to Antalya Airport and Trabzon City Tour (Half Day)
Pick up from the hotel and transfer to Antalya domestic airport for your flight to Trabzon. On arrival we will explore the highlights of Trabzon City; visit St. Sophia Church,The King Manuel I of the Kommenos family established a new state in 1204 in Trabzon and then fled after the invasion of Istanbul by latins, built Sophia, a monastery church,meaning ‘Holy Wisdom’ between 1250-1260), Ataturk’s Summerhouse. Transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight at Trabzon.
DAY 2 - Trabzon & Sumela Monastery Tour (Full Day)
After breakfast at the hotel drive up steep mountain roads to visit 4.th century SUMELA MONASTERY in its extraordinary setting suspended high on a cliff face above tortuous gorges.1000-year-old Monastery of the Virgin Mary at Sumela is among the most impressive sights of Turkey''s Black Sea coast.The monastery''s alpine setting, clinging to a sheer rock cliff in the midst of evergreen forests loud with the splash of chill mountain streams, comes as a surprise for those who think of Turkey as a land of rolling steppe. The land around the monastery is now preserved as Altindere National Park.It''s a 1-km (6/10 mile), 35 to 45-minute hike uphill from the parking lot to the monastery entrance. You rise 250 meters (820 feet) in the climb.The excursion to Sumela is best done as a half-day excursion from Trabzon, 46 km (29 miles) away.Return the Hotel and Overnight at Trabzon.
DAY 3 –Rize–Firtina(storm) valley and Uzungol(Full Day)
After breakfast depart for Rıze to visit the Botanical Garden which offers panoramic views over Rize. Then drive to Camlihemsin through the beautifull Firtina Valley enjoying the panorama with its many waterfalls, stone bridges over Firtina Stream and lush green forests on the foothills of the magnificient Kackar Mountains.Lunch and sightseeing in Ayder.End of the tour return to Trabzon to take a flight to Antalya. |
