Tour Remarks
DAY 1: Arrive Istanbul
Our tours Turkey representative will meet you at the airport holding a sign with your name on it. We will then start the drive to Antioch. After dinner, we will meet for cocktails and a welcome briefing with your English speaking guide, who will accompany you throughout the entire tour.
DAY 2: Istanbul
Today our tour will consist of the St. Sophia, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, St. Irene and St. Chora Museum. Overnight in Istanbul.
DAY 3: Fly to Sanliurfa –
See the Cave where Abraham was born 4000 years ago. The city of Urfa dates back to the second millennium B.C. when it may been the capital of a Hurrian state. According to the Koran Urfa ( Edessa ) was the birthplace of Abraham. Visit Abrahams cave and the pool of Abraham, full of carp, regarded as sacred in a refreshing place to visit Ulu Cami and The Sanli Urfa Museum.Overnight in Urfa.
DAY 4: Mount Nemrut
We will set of in the morning to visit Mount Nemrut. In 62 BC, King Antiochus / Theos of Commagene built on the mountain top a tomb-sanctuary flanked by huge statues of himself, two lions, two eagles and various Greek, Armenian, and Iranian gods, such as Hercules-Vahagn, Zeus-Aramazd or Oromasdes.Possible uses for this site is thought to have included religious ceremonies, due to the astronomical and religious nature of the monument. Overnight in Istanbul
DAY 5: Fly to Izmir (via Istanbul)
Transfer to the airport then board your flight to Izmir. Once arrived in Izmir we will visit the Church of St. Policarp which is the oldest church in ancient Smyrna, it symbolizes the community of the Seven Churches of Apocalypse .Then we will visit Alexander the Great''s "Velvet Castle" overlooking the bay of Izmir. Overnight in Izmir.
DAY 6: Pergamum - Thyatira - Izmir
We will drive to Pergamon and visit the Asclepion, the ancient hospital, the Acropolis, the Church at the site of ancient Serapium and the Red Court dedicated to St. John. Then go to see the Akhisar, the site of Ancient Thyatira. Overnight in Izmir.
DAY 7: Sardis - Philadelphia - Pamukkale
Drive to Sardes, ancient capital of the Lydians and visit the Church of Sardes. Continue to Alasehir where the ancient Philadelphia Church is located.Walk the streets of Philadelphia, and then proceed to Pamukkale, the white castle "Cotton Castle" with its lime cascades of the Roman spa. See the ancient city of Hierapolis. The Martyrium of St. Philip the Apostle is here. Enjoy a leisurely bath in the hot spring pool of your hotel. Overnight in Pamukkale.
DAY 8: Laodicea - Miletos - Kusadasi
Drive to Laodicea, the present –day visitor to Laodicea finds a large area littered with broken marble, tops of stone masonry walls, public building, two theaters, a large stadium, and a water tower, then drive to Miletos , where St. Paul gave a speech to the locals to spread the Christianity. Overnight in Kusadasi.
DAY 9: Ephesus - Izmir
Visit the Church of St. Policarp which is the oldest church in ancient Smyrna, it symbolized the community of the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse and drive to Ephesus where St. Paul stayed a while, visit the ancient city, House of the Virgin Mary, the Basilica of St. John, continue to Miletos where St. Paul gave a speech to spread Christianity. Overnight in Izmir.
DAY 10: Izmir
