During the classic Izmir tour you will see so many wonderful places. Konak square has the Izmir clock tower which is located in the heart of konak square and it is very historic. It was designed by the Levantine French architect Raymond Charles Père, it was built in 1901 in honor of Abdülhamid II''s 25th anniversary to the throne. Kemeralti is the gateway to major bazaar of Izmir which is directly located behind the government buildings which face the water. It makes a nice change from site seeing to shopping in a grand bazaar. It resembles a maze of small streets covering a good sized. The shops generally close at 20.00pm however a couple may stay open until 21:00pm. Kadifekale which is also known as The Velvet Castle, looks over the town from its vantage point on top of Kadifekale hill. Kadifekale is both a castle and a fort which gives clear views over much of the city and across to the Gulf of Izmir. You’ll see Sevgi street which is a nice place to check out as it has palm tree’s surrounding the street, people selling silver and small trinkets, it has a very nice atmosphere. The Saint Polycarp Church is the oldest church in Izmir. It stands for the ancient Smyrna''s role as one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Kizlaragasi Haan is a historical, authentic and interesting experience. There is men that wear native costumes and native hats which gives the bazaar a brilliant atmosphere.
