Sardis was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Lydia which was ruled by King Croesus. It is a large archeological site. It’s a Roman city situated 90 km east of Izmir next to the town of Sartmahmut. Here you will see the ruins of a gymnasium, the temple of Diana and the Jewish temple. It is famous for how well preserved it is and is a really Grand day out.
