I’ve done city tours in many cities all over the world – usually not to just hit all the main sites quickly and get some background on them, but also to get quick base feel of the city and get my bearings and see where I want to expand on my own.

I chose this company because of the Trip Advisor reviews and wasn’t disappointed. This was probably one of the best (if not THE best) tours I’ve ever done anywhere. I did the walking day tour in Sultanahmet which covered the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, the Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, and Spice Bazaar (this was on a Sunday, so the Grand Bazaar was closed – this was not a problem at all, as the grand bazaar is very easy to do on your own time).

We ended up a group of four people, due to the low tourism numbers in Istanbul at the moment. But being the maximum of 8 would have felt the same. Perfect size of group to do it with, so there is no need to book a private tour. Our tour guide was Metin – you’ve probably seen his name a few times in these reviews, and for good reason: He was easily the best guide I’ve ever had. You can tell he is truly passionate about his city and country. He is SO knowledgeable about all the sites and the history, and enthusiastic about it! Some of these things are over 2000 years old and yet he knows the entire history of them all without having to check references. Also, his English is absolutely perfect. He even took us to a location that was not on the initial itinerary, as we had all agreed we would like to see it (the underground cisterns) – and it was well worth it!

I cannot say enough good things about Metin, and about the day we had. One of the most memorable days I’ve had. The sights are truly incredible.

Also, the company responded to my enquiry very quickly and was exceptionally organized.
