Day 1 : Asian Side Walking Tour

Eminönü: Tour guide meets you at Eminönü and you will take public ferry to Kadıköy. This ride will also allow you to enjoy Bosphorus and watch the Old City from the other side. Ferries are commonly used by locals as an effective and relaxing way of commuting.

Kadıköy:  Kadıköy -Chalcedon- was named as the town of the blinds since its residents chose to settle there instead of gorgeous Byzantion which is the Old City. Today it is like the hub of Asian side with its vibrant streets, cafes, fish and fruit markets, shops, art galleries and antique stores. While strolling through the streets, it is easy to see Armenian and Greek heritages. Then we will head to Moda to give a break and if wanted we can try home-made Turkish ice cream.

Üsküdar: Üsküdar is known as one of the most conservative region of the Asian side, totally different than modern Kadıköy. It had a special importance during the Ottoman times since trips to pilgrimage used to depart from here. The historical mosques can be seen from Ottoman period as Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, the daughter of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Üsküdar Fish Market will be another place to stop to see locals shopping and with its colorful shops selling, fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, dried fruits and nuts, Turkish Delight and more.

Kuzguncuk: Kuzguncuk is an important example of mingling different ethnics and cultures from Ottoman times. Here a synagogue, a church and mosque can be seen built next to each other. It is located near by the Bosphorus, many locals prefer the area for jogging and fishing while enjoying the Bosphorus breeze.

We take the local ferry back to the European side. End of the tour.
